Everyone who steps into the world of trading has a dream: fast money, a luxurious lifestyle, and ultimate freedom. But behind those dreams lies a massive abyss: Reality.
I didn’t start this journey by “knowing everything.” I started by losing everything. I threw all the money I had earned through hard work and sweat into the market with a sense of greed, only to watch it vanish before my eyes. In that moment, I realized that the market doesn’t care how hard you work; it only cares about how disciplined you are.
🧠 Psychological Readiness: Why Did I Lose?
My failure wasn’t due to a lack of technical analysis knowledge; it was because my psychology wasn’t ready.
- The Fast Money Trap: The thought of “I must win now” is a trader’s greatest enemy. This urgency pushes you into making mistakes and opening oversized positions (lots).
- Trading with Debt: If you are trading with borrowed money or money you will need tomorrow, you cannot make rational decisions. Trading with debt is like trying to run a marathon with shackles on your legs. A Survivor’s first rule is to gain psychological freedom (being debt-free).
🛡️ The Power of Staying Calm
The market will always be there. Opportunities never end. If you are not calm today, closing the screen and drinking your tea is the most profitable trade you can make. A restless mind is merely “prey” in the market. Our goal is to be the “hunter.”
🔍 Building Your Fortress: Selecting Brokers and Prop Firms
Out there, it’s not just the market you’re up against; there are also fraudulent institutions eyeing your capital. Never deposit a single cent without thoroughly investigating where you will entrust your hard-earned money:
- Brokers: Scrutinize their licenses, withdrawal speeds, and user reviews before committing.
- Prop Firms: Read the “fine print” of the rulebooks of these firms that promise high capital. Many firms are designed for you to fail and be eliminated, not to help you win. Do not build the “Market Survivor” fortress on shaky ground without razor-sharp research.
Remember: Any trade entered without proper knowledge is just gambling. We are not gamblers; we are strategy experts.
